# Mixed VR Setup Guide (Inside-Out HMD + HTC VIVE  Ultimate Trackers)​

&#x20;Equipment Preparation

* Quest 3 Headset
* Steam Link (launch within Quest)
* UDCAP VR Gloves
* HTC VIVE Ultimate Trackers (two, one for each hand)
* Ensure your PC has installed:
  * Steam
  * SteamVR
  * UDCAP Software
  * HTC VIVE Hub

### I. Enable Add-Ons

1. Launch SteamVR.
2. Go to Settings → Controllers → Manage Add-Ons.
3. Confirm **UDCAP** and **VIVE Space Calibrator** are Enabled.

### II. Software & Device Startup Sequence

1. Launch UDCAP Software.
2. Launch HTC VIVE Hub.
3. Launch Steam.

Please start HTC VIVE Hub and Steam with the same privileges as UDCAP software to ensure consistent privileges and prevent plugin loading failures.

For example, if the V0.1.6 version of UDCAP software is installed on the C drive, it will start by default with administrator privileges, so you need to start HTC VIVE Hub and Steam with the same administrator privileges.&#x20;

software V0.1.6: If installed on the C drive, this version starts by default with administrator privileges; if installed on other drives, it starts by default with normal privileges.&#x20;

Between V0.1.3 and V0.1.5: UDCAP software starts by default with administrator privileges.&#x20;

Before V0.1.3: Starts by default with normal privileges.

4. Start SteamVR.
5. Power on Quest 3 Headset → Open Steam Link → Connect to PC.

### III. Check SteamVR Panel Status

After connection, the SteamVR panel should display:

* ✅ Quest Headset (highlighted)
* ⚪ UDCAP Gloves (gray initially, will light up later)
* ✅ Quest Controllers (highlighted)
* ✅ HTC VIVE Ultimate Trackers (highlighted)

### IV. Enable UDCAP Functionality (For Quest, Pico, etc.)

1. On your desktop, right-click the UDCAP icon → Open File Location.
2. Navigate to the **udcap-bin-win64** folder.
3. Right-click udcap\_overlay.exe.

* Udcap Driver 0.1.7.0: Main page - Menu - Click \[Connect to SteamVR]

* Udcap Driver 0.1.6.0 and earlier versions: Run the udcap\_overlay.exe file with administrator privileges.

### V. VIVE Space Calibrator Alignment

1. Wear the UDCAP Gloves.
2. Put on the headset and open the SteamVR Menu.
3. At the bottom, switch to VIVE Space Calibrator.

4. Follow in-VR prompts:
   * Hold Quest Controllers and HTC VIVE Ultimate Trackers.
   * Complete all calibration steps as instructed.

* After completion, the system will automatically align the gloves based on the tracker's position.

### VI. UTK Tracker Configuration

1. Ensure both UTK Trackers are connected.
2. Open UDCAP Software → Space Orientation → Switch to UTK Scheme → Click "Save".

3. Open SteamVR → Settings → Controllers → Manage Trackers.
4. Assign trackers:
   1. Left Hand: Handheld Left
   2. Right Hand: Handheld Right

### VII. After completion, the system will auto-align the gloves based on tracker positions.
