Please start the driver as administrator.
A:Open the UDCAP driver and move the mouse over the glove icon to display the UDCAP glove number, power level, frame rate (FPS), and current channel number. The frame rate (FPS) is not affected when it is above 100+.
If the frame rate (FPS) is too low, use the channel switching function.
Use extension cords to avoid physical proximity between signal receivers and to avoid interference with various signals.
Menu - Firmware update - Switching channels. You can change the current connection channel (Range 0-99)
Switching receivers when the glove is not nearby may result in the receiver switching successfully, but the glove channel is still the same as the original channel.
Solution: Connect the gloves to the computer via data cable and open the firmware update page to manually switch to the same channel.
Check the SteamVR panel for a gray glove. If there is no dark glove icon, then you need to open steamVR settings - startup/shutdown-manage add-ons to turn on UDCAP driver recognition.Restart steamVR afterwards.
If the STEAM panel is indicated by a gray glove, then you need to
Your installation path \UdcapDriver\udcap\bin\win64 file in the UDCAP_overlay.exe file To find it: right mouse click on UdcapDriver icon, Properties.
Find the udcap folder inside the UdcapDriver folder. Once inside, open bin→win64 in turn.
Open - Device Manager
Find the ports (COM and LPT) in Device Manager
Check that the port correctly recognizes USB-SERIAL CH340 and make sure that the device name is correct.(COM port names in parentheses are irrelevant)
If the port recognizes the signal receiver and the name is correct, please check if there are other software/devices occupying the port and causing the UDCAP driver to fail to recognize it.Please close the software that occupies the port, or restart the computer.
If the port recognizes the signal receiver, but the name is incorrect, the glove receiver driver needs to be reinstalled. You need to reinstall UDCAP, and after successful installation, you need to further click to install the receiver driver.
If the port fails to display a device, there may be a problem with the USB port and the USB socket needs to be replaced.
Please check that the signal receiver and the glove are in the same channel. Refer to Channel Switch for details.
The data cable is differentiated into positive and negative poles. When connecting, please make sure that the UDCAP icon on both ends of the cable is on the top or bottom at the same time.
When the index finger is naturally bent, pushing the joystick left may result in an upward/downward force angle, causing non-pure horizontal input detection.
Solution: SteamVR Joystick Calibration Steps
Access Calibration Interface:
Launch SteamVR and ensure the controller is connected.
Navigate to SteamVR → "Settings" → "Controllers" → "Edit THUMBSTICK Settings".
**Adjust Finger Posture:**
Wear the glove normally and position the index finger in its common operating posture (e.g., slightly bent to mimic in-game usage).
**Calibrate Joystick Direction:**
Select the controller to calibrate (Left/Right).
Hold the trigger button to enter calibration mode.
Follow prompts to push the joystick toward your perceived **"true upward"** direction at least 5 times (maintain consistent force direction).
This issue needs to be resolved by modifying the mapping. In SteamVR, Settings - Controllers - Manage Controller Bindings-
After selecting the game to be changed
The following is an example of ALYX.
The in-game trigger is ranged. The longer the range, the greater the magnitude of the snapping motion of the index finger. In the event that the in-game trigger fails to recover correctly, you can't fire the gun, you can't shoot the bullets, and you get what looks like “key swallowing”. It is recommended to shorten the threshold from touch to full firing to between 10% in the UDCAP driver. This way, when firing quickly, the index finger can be snapped with a small amount of movement, making it possible to fire the gun more quickly. As shown in the picture:
Settings - Open the full settings menu - Tracking & IK - Adjust the armchair-height ratio.
VRChat - Settings - Controls - Enable "Avatar Use Finger Tracking"
VRChat - Settings - Avatar - General Avatar Settings - Disable "Avatar Gestures"
