### Hand capture lag

1. Switch to a channel with less interference. You can view channel signal strength in the switching interface. For details, see the [**\[Firmware Update & Channel Switching\]** ](/udcap/software-setup/devices.md)section.\
   **Ensure that the left and right gloves are set to different channels.**
2. Use an extension cable to keep the signal receiver **at least 60cm away** from the computer case.

> **Note: Actions that severely affect signal strength:**
>
> a. If you're using multiple receivers on a USB HUB, make sure the HUB is externally powered and provides stable voltage to each USB port.
>
> b. Too many 2.4GHz Wi-Fi signals nearby can cause interference.

### **Frequent Channel Switching Failures**

**Cause:**\
Switching commands are lost due to **low signal strength** or **excessive interference** on the current channel.

**Solution:**\
Move the glove as close as possible to the Wireless Receiver. Only attempt channel switching when the **signal strength indicator turns green**.

{% hint style="info" %}
**CAUTION: Operations that severely impact signal strength:**\
a. If using a **USB hub** with multiple Wireless Receivers:\
→ Ensure the hub has **dedicated power supply**\
→ Verify **rated voltage** for all USB ports\
b. **Excessive Wi-Fi 2.4GHz signals** in the operating environment.
{% endhint %}

### When the two signal receivers were simultaneously inserted into the computer, the UDCAP software only displayed one.

Please re-pair the signal receiver. For details, please refer to:

{% content-ref url="/pages/q634rkPlMMX6FZSeWjTT" %}
[Devices](/udcap/software-setup/devices.md)
{% endcontent-ref %}

### The glove cannot connect to the signal receiver.&#x20;

The power of the glove is on, but the blue light is flashing.&#x20;

Please open[ \[Firmware Update\] - \[Pairing\] ](https://udcap-vr-gloves-document.gitbook.io/udcap/pages/q634rkPlMMX6FZSeWjTT#id-2.-glove-and-signal-receiver-pairing)to connect the glove.

### When connecting the gloves to the computer via the data cable, the UDCAP software is unable to read the information of the gloves or the signal receiver.

1. Please confirm your system language settings.\
   This issue occurred because the Udcap Driver software version 0.1.4 had compatibility problems in some language environments. These issues have been resolved in version 0.1.5.\
   Solution:\
   a. Update the Udcap Driver software to the latest version.\
   b. If you still want to use the older version of the software, please switch your system language to English (English), and then you can properly recognize the gloves, update the firmware, and perform the pairing operation.
2. Problem description: The receiver/glove is connected via a wire, but the software fails to recognize it. Open the Device Manager and check the ports.

* Device Manager - Ports (COM and LPT)

<figure><img src="/files/V7vFzy7qvyXbJpEdnaif" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Locate the conflicting COM port, right-click on it, select Properties - Port Settings - Advanced - Switch to an unused port.\
Then reinsert the signal receiver and the glove, and restart the UDCAP software to solve the problem.

<figure><img src="/files/Pz9L5Z1hqPtpqRwEz34W" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### After starting SteamVR, the SteamVR panel does not display the udcap gloves (nor the gray gloves).

Cause: The UDCAP plugin was not enabled properly. The gray/highlighted icon of the UDCAP VR glove did not appear on the SteamVR panel.

<figure><img src="/files/nlTegvCs4Tv0K5vdWx2R" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

In normal view: When the udcap plugin is normally enabled, without performing any operations, the gray icon of the udcap glove still appears on the SteamVR panel.

<figure><img src="/files/PIF94rot9xlnTz4ZuzwV" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="/files/Ix3VADYhBTgYqCDfihT5" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Solution:

1. Open SteamVR - Settings - Start/Stop - Manage Add-ons - Make sure the UDCAP add-on is enabled.

<figure><img src="/files/OsiL5si3MzJ5ejpgLmzz" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

2. &#x20;If the udcap option is already enabled in the add-on, and after restarting SteamVR, the SteamVR panel still fails to display the udcap glove icon, please check if the previously moved udcap file exists in the SteamVR plugin folder and delete it.

<figure><img src="/files/PK4Ju1tw9qio8mEshCcx" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### SteamVR Glove Icon Stays Grey (Cannot Connect)

* If you're using a Pico or Quest headset, run Udcap\_overlay.exe.

### No Vibration (e.g. VRChat Has No Vibration)

#### a. When clicking in the Udcap Driver software, no vibration feedback was detected. <a href="#id-1.-when-clicking-in-the-udcap-driver-software-no-vibration-feedback-was-detected" id="id-1.-when-clicking-in-the-udcap-driver-software-no-vibration-feedback-was-detected"></a>

Please ensure that the connection cable of the joystick module is inserted into the Type-C port on the outside of the glove. For more details, please refer to:

{% content-ref url="/pages/Xz9Hi8kNwqyxlkoIYPIC" %}
[Peripheral Installation Guide](/udcap/hardware-setup/peripheral-installation-guide.md)
{% endcontent-ref %}

If the connection is correct, and after clicking in the software, there is still no vibration feedback from the entire joystick module or a specific point, please contact the after-sales service.

#### b.In the Udcap Driver software, there is a vibration feedback when clicking, but there is no vibration feedback in the game.

**Reason 1:** Please make sure that you have enabled vibration feedback in the game.

**Solution:** Turn on the vibration feedback within the game.

For example: In VRChat, you need to turn on vibration feedback. Settings - Accessibility - Vibration Feedback. If there is no vibration feedback when touching the other character in VRChat, the other character also needs to enable vibration feedback.

**Reason 2:** The plug-in related to vibration feedback in the Udcap Driver software conflicts with Steam or other software.

**Solution:**

1. Please update the software and firmware to the latest version.
2. Please select to increase the permissions of Steam or Udcap Driver according to the different versions of your Udcap Driver software, ensuring that the permissions of Steam and Udcap Driver are **consistent**.

#### c.Vibration feedback intensity <a href="#id-3.-vibration-feedback-intensity" id="id-3.-vibration-feedback-intensity"></a>

Low battery level may cause the vibration to weaken.

Please charge the gloves promptly.

### Joystick Direction is Inverted (Up/Down, Left/Right Reversed)

Joystick connection cable is installed incorrectly.\
Make sure the **UDCAP logo is facing the same direction** (either both facing up or both down).

show in [\[Peripheral Installation Guide\]](/udcap/hardware-setup/peripheral-installation-guide.md#installing-the-joystick-module)

### Joystick Drift

Recalibrate the joystick.\
For details, see the **\[Software Features →** [**Joystick Calibration**](https://udcap-vr-gloves-document.gitbook.io/udcap/pages/1wReW5kPe6L6iHZYGLP0#vi.-joystick-calibration)**]** section.

### How to recalibrate the joystick direction when the glove's joystick module misaligns due to finger bending?

When the index finger is naturally bent, pushing the joystick left may result in an upward/downward force angle, causing non-pure horizontal input detection.

**Solution: SteamVR Joystick Calibration Steps**

1. Access Calibration Interface:

   * Launch SteamVR and ensure the controller is connected.
   * Navigate to **SteamVR → "Settings" → "Controllers" → "Edit THUMBSTICK Settings"**.

   <figure><img src="/files/GLddhgk0pMzLg9tZ5NWv" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
2. \*\*Adjust Finger Posture:\*\*
   * Wear the glove normally and position the index finger in its **common operating posture** (e.g., slightly bent to mimic in-game usage).
3. \*\*Calibrate Joystick Direction:\*\*
   * Select the controller to calibrate (Left/Right).
   * **Hold the trigger button** to enter calibration mode.
   * Follow prompts to push the joystick toward your perceived \*\*"true upward"\*\* direction at least 5 times (maintain consistent force direction).

### How Can I Modify Button Mappings?

Please refer to the 【[SteamVR Input Remapping Tutorial](/udcap/steamvr-settings/steamvr-input-remapping-tutorial.md)】 section.

### Why Does "Input Dropping" Happen During Rapid Firing in Games Like *Half-Life: Alyx*, and How to Fix It?

In shooting games like *Half-Life: Alyx*, the trigger input is **analog**—meaning the game detects how much the trigger is pressed, not just whether it's pressed or not. It simulates the physical feel of a real trigger pull.

When firing rapidly, if the trigger does **not fully return to its initial position** after each shot, the game may **fail to register the next pull**, resulting in missed shots, commonly referred to as **"input dropping"**.

✅ **Recommended Solution:**\
We recommend **reducing the “Trigger Threshold”** in the UDCAP driver settings.\
Set the trigger activation range (from touch to full press) to **within 10%**.

This allows each quick press to register with less movement, making the trigger input more responsive and minimizing input loss during rapid firing.

### Unable to Fully Extend Arms in VRChat

Settings - Open the full settings menu - Tracking & IK - Adjust the Arm vs Height Ratio.

<figure><img src="/files/Canu78Z3cvDJIlz8LoB9" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### VRC model character hand jam, not smooth enough.

1. **VRChat - Settings - Controls - Enable "Avatar Use Finger Tracking"**

<figure><img src="/files/Uo7fAfAZuKZBbekxBMBY" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

2. **VRChat - Settings - Avatar - General Avatar Settings - Disable "Avatar Gestures"**

<figure><img src="/files/rBkoeKuGciGwWcsKE2RV" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### SteamVR experienced a crash.

If SteamVR crashes, it might be due to compatibility conflicts caused by third-party plugins or extensions.\
We recommend that you go to the SteamVR settings and try temporarily disabling some plugins to identify the source of the conflict one by one.\
The currently known conflicts are: 【htc\_rr】 and 【smooth tracking】
