UDCAP VR Gloves FAQs
1. Unable to Connect UDCAP VR Gloves
Please refer to the [Firmware Update & Channel Switching] section. The gloves need to be re-paired.
Firmware Update & Channel Switching2. Glove Lag or Significant Input Delay
Switch to a channel with less interference. You can view channel signal strength in the switching interface. For details, see the [Firmware Update & Channel Switching] section. Ensure that the left and right gloves are set to different channels.
Use an extension cable to keep the signal receiver at least 60cm away from the computer case.
Note: Actions that severely affect signal strength:
a. If you're using multiple receivers on a USB HUB, make sure the HUB is externally powered and provides stable voltage to each USB port.
b. Too many 2.4GHz Wi-Fi signals nearby can cause interference.
3. SteamVR Glove Icon Stays Grey (Cannot Connect)
If you're using a Pico or Quest headset, run Udcap_overlay.exe as administrator.
show in [Meta Quest Headsets]
If you're using Lighthouse tracking, make sure your trackers (e.g. Vive Tracker 3.0) are set to “held in hand” and assigned to left/right hand.
show in [Lighthouse Tracking Plan]
4. No Vibration in Games (e.g. VRChat Has No Vibration)
Launch Steam as administrator.
If there is no vibration in-game, make sure vibration feedback is enabled in the game settings.
For example, in VRChat:
Settings → Accessibility → Vibration Feedback
→ Enable it.
5. Joystick Direction is Inverted (Up/Down, Left/Right Reversed)
Joystick connection cable is installed incorrectly. Make sure the UDCAP logo is facing the same direction (either both facing up or both down).
show in [Peripheral Installation Guide]
6. Joystick Drift
Recalibrate the joystick. For details, see the [Software Features → Joystick Calibration] section.
7. How to recalibrate the joystick direction when the glove's joystick module misaligns due to finger bending?
When the index finger is naturally bent, pushing the joystick left may result in an upward/downward force angle, causing non-pure horizontal input detection.
Solution: SteamVR Joystick Calibration Steps
Access Calibration Interface:
Launch SteamVR and ensure the controller is connected.
Navigate to SteamVR → "Settings" → "Controllers" → "Edit THUMBSTICK Settings".
**Adjust Finger Posture:**
Wear the glove normally and position the index finger in its common operating posture (e.g., slightly bent to mimic in-game usage).
**Calibrate Joystick Direction:**
Select the controller to calibrate (Left/Right).
Hold the trigger button to enter calibration mode.
Follow prompts to push the joystick toward your perceived **"true upward"** direction at least 5 times (maintain consistent force direction).

8. My Other Device (Controller) Frequently Conflicts with the Gloves
Go to UDCAP → Settings
and set the Controller Priority to [HIGH].

9. How Can I Modify Button Mappings?
Please refer to the 【SteamVR Input Remapping Tutorial】 section.
10. Why Does "Input Dropping" Happen During Rapid Firing in Games Like Half-Life: Alyx, and How to Fix It?
In shooting games like Half-Life: Alyx, the trigger input is analog—meaning the game detects how much the trigger is pressed, not just whether it's pressed or not. It simulates the physical feel of a real trigger pull.
When firing rapidly, if the trigger does not fully return to its initial position after each shot, the game may fail to register the next pull, resulting in missed shots, commonly referred to as "input dropping".
✅ Recommended Solution: We recommend reducing the “Trigger Threshold” in the UDCAP driver settings. Set the trigger activation range (from touch to full press) to within 10%.
This allows each quick press to register with less movement, making the trigger input more responsive and minimizing input loss during rapid firing.

11. Unable to Fully Extend Arms in VRChat
Settings - Open the full settings menu - Tracking & IK - Adjust the armchair-height ratio.

12. VRC model character hand jam, not smooth enough.
VRChat - Settings - Controls - Enable "Avatar Use Finger Tracking"

VRChat - Settings - Avatar - General Avatar Settings - Disable "Avatar Gestures"

13. Frequent Channel Switching Failures
Cause: Switching commands are lost due to low signal strength or excessive interference on the current channel.
Solution: Move the glove as close as possible to the Wireless Receiver. Only attempt channel switching when the signal strength indicator turns green.
14. When connecting the gloves to the PC via USB cable, the UDCAP software fails to detect the gloves, making it impossible to update the firmware or complete the pairing process. What should I do?
Please check your system language settings. This issue is caused by a compatibility bug related to the system language. Our team is working on a fix and will release an update as soon as possible.
Temporary workaround: Switch your system language to English, and the UDCAP software should be able to detect the gloves and proceed with firmware updates and pairing.
15.The glove cannot connect to the signal receiver.
The power of the glove is on, but the blue light is flashing.
Please open [Firmware Update] - [Pairing] to connect the glove.
