Lighthouse Tracking Plan: SteamVR and Glove Settings (e.g., VIVE PRO 2)

Devices Used:

  • HTC VIVE 2.0 Tracking Base Station

  • HTC VIVE TRACKER 3.0 × 2

  • HTC VIVE PRO 2 Headset

  • UDCAP VR Gloves

The devices listed above are used in this tutorial demonstration. You can substitute them with devices that have similar functionality.

1. Launch UDCAP Software as Administrator

Right-click the UDCAP software icon and select "Run as Administrator."

2. Launch Steam (Administrator privileges) and Run SteamVR

Run Steam as an administrator and start SteamVR, ensuring full permissions to prevent plugin loading failures.

3. Enable UDCAP Plugin

In SteamVR, go to: Settings → Startup/Shutdown, find the UDCAP, and ensure it is enabled.

4. Configure Tracking Plan

In the UDCAP SoftwareSpatial Position, select the Tracker 3.0 Tracking Plan.

If you are using a different tracking method, please select the appropriate plan according to your devices. For more details, refer to the "Software Overview - Spatial Position" section.

5. Power on VIVE Tracker 3.0 and Connect to SteamVR

Press and hold the power button to turn on both Trackers and connect them to SteamVR.

6. Set Trackers as Hand Devices

Go to: SteamVR Settings → Controllers → Tracker Management Find the two VIVE TRACKER 3.0 devices and set them as follows:

  • Handheld - Left Hand

  • Handheld - Right Hand

7. Verify Connection Success

After setup, the glove icon in the SteamVR main interface will be highlighted. This indicates that the glove is correctly connected.

⚠️ If you notice that the left and right hands are reversed, simply go back to the Tracker Management interface and swap the left and right hand settings for the two Trackers. No other action is required.
