Important Note: Pico software possesses elevated system privileges. Launching Pico Connect will purge add-ons in SteamVR, potentially causing UDCAP plugin malfunctions or failure of glove-to-controller emulation.
To avoid this, follow these steps strictly.
Manually Install UDCAP Driver into SteamVR:Copy the UDCAP Driver folder (Path: Your Udcap Driver installation directory\udcap
) to the SteamVR drivers folder (Path: Your Steam installation directory\Steam\steamapps\common\SteamVR\drivers
).
Your Udcap Driver installation directory\udcap
) to the SteamVR drivers folder (Path: Your Steam installation directory\Steam\steamapps\common\SteamVR\drivers
).Tip: Repeat this step after every Udcap Driver software update.

1. Launch Pico Connect
Establish a successful stream connection to your Pico headset.
2. Launch Steam via Pico Connect
Initiate Steam through Pico Connect to activate SteamVR.
Note: Pico Connect requests Administrator privileges upon launch. If you launch SteamVR directly via Pico Connect, both Steam and SteamVR will run with Administrator rights.
3. Launch UDCAP Software as Administrator
Administrator Privileges Explanation:
Since SteamVR under Pico runs with elevated permissions (forcing Steam into Admin mode), Udcap Driver must also run as Administrator.
Ensure consistent privilege levels for Steam, SteamVR, and Udcap Driver.
4. Verify Plugin Status
In SteamVR Home: Navigate to Settings → Startup/Shutdown → Manage Add-ons and confirm the UDCAP plugin is enabled.

5. Set Controller Priority
In the UDCAP software, set Controller Priority to High to prevent Pico controllers from contending with gloves and ensure glove control takes precedence.

6. Calibration
For calibration procedures, refer to: [Calibration Guidelines]
7. Troubleshooting: Gray Glove Icons

If glove icons remain gray in SteamVR after launching UDCAP software:
Manually run
udcap_overlay.exe
as Administrator (Path:Your Steam installation directory\Steam\steamapps\common\SteamVR\drivers\udcap\bin\win64
).
Note: udcap_overlay.exe
must match the privilege level of UDCAP, Steam, and SteamVR.

8. Verify Successful Connection
After setup, glove icons in SteamVR Home will appear highlighted, confirming proper connection.

9. Configure Spatial Tracking Solution
In UDCAP Software → Spatial Positioning:
Select Custom Solution.
Use ± buttons to fine-tune glove positioning (Refer to Software Features: Spatial Positioning).
